Happiness in a View
February 5, 2022

Given my health, it can be hard to appreciate all the things sometimes. When coffee doesn't taste good. When standing is a challenge. When my good hand won't work properly. Many of the little things become a struggle, not a respite. I do my best to stay positive, and the view from my back door helps me find joy every day.

Early morning is typically my healthiest time of day. So, one of my favorite things to do is sit with a coffee and watch the sun rise. This morning it was particularly spectacular. The picture is only a fraction of how beautiful it really is. The way the light softened the Flatirons brought goosebumps to my arms. Or maybe that was the chill of the air when I went outside to take the photo.

Being here in person felt like magic. It could have been a scene from a fantasy book. Like many mornings, the view centered me and gave me a few good writing hours. The combination of the stunning surroundings and an opportunity to creative is as good as it gets, even when I hurt or shake or can't calm my heart.

I wish everyone could enjoy the view that I appreciate every day (not cloud city). I hope that sharing this photo brings a glimmer of a smile to your lips.
